Welcome To The
Alvin ISD Child
Nutrition Program
Home Page

Our Mission:
It is the mission of the Alvin Child Nutrition
Department to provide nutritional meals
offered in a friendly, clean
environment,
that contributed to the body's ability to
process the information necessary for
students to lead
meaningful and productive lives.

How does the Food Service program work?
The Alvin ISD Child Nutrition program is operated in accordance with the USDA's National School
Lunch & Breakfast Programs and the Summer
Feeding Program guidelines. Our program is also
administered by the Texas
Department of Agriculture. Our
22 cafeterias and satellites must serve
meals according to those guidelines in order to receive federal payments (reimbursements)
on each meal. By qualifying for reimbursements, we can offer
reduced rates on meals that actually
cost us over twice our meal prices. The
Alvin ISD Child Nutrition program
is a self-supporting department.
